“I am indebted to my father for living, but to my teacher for living well.”
~ Alexander the Great

School’s end is nearly approaching and, before we break for summer, go crazy and throw our textbooks away, it’s a nice gesture to show our teachers a little gratitude for putting up with us another year and for sharing their knowledge with us. Teachers are equally ecstatic for summer break (I mean, you weren’t the easiest student to have in class) so give them something to help them enjoy it and rejuvenate for next term! Check out some of these cool Teacher Gifts

Happy trails, till we meet again! Send your teacher off into the summer sun with a trendy Rhinestone Sunglasses Cosmetic Purse. Most likely, if they’re not stuck with you in summer school, your teachers are taking advantage of their break to travel. Let them go in style with this cute purse that may be used as a clutch or cosmetic bag during their summer getaway.

Teachers could use a helping hand amidst all the hustle and bustle of the school year. Perk em up with the RuMe Cuff and I Am Not  a Paper Cup. Let the RuMe Cuff hold their cash, cards, and/or important notes while they have their hands full with stacks of papers to grade. I Am Not A Paper Cup keeps their coffee/tea guzzling eco-friendly.

Give your teacher a break from cafeteria food. What better way to show your teacher appreciation than with a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies and cold cup of milk in a PackIt Personal Cooler! No need for bulky ice packs, no need for ice that quickly melts, keeps food and drinks cold up to 10 hours, and your teacher can use it over and over again.

The Weekly Striped To-Do Pad would be a big help in keeping your teacher organized. He/She can use it to organize their busy life or busy classroom agendas.

Get Teacher ready for next school term with fun and educational classroom props. The students can get involved in building a Rubberband Orbit Ball or with fun classroom games like Tenzi.

Celebration of Peace, Love, and Harmony

Sunday, September 19th, 2010

September 21 is the International Day of Peace, or World Peace Day. Take it upon yourself to do a good deed for a stranger and believe that he/she will pay it forward. Start with a day then try it for a week, a couple weeks, a month…

InternationalDayofPeace.org“The International Day of Peace (“Peace Day”) provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of peace on a shared date. It was established by a United Nations resolution in 1981 to coincide with the opening of the General Assembly. The first Peace Day was celebrated in September 1982.

In 2002 the General Assembly officially declared September 21 as the permanent date for the International Day of Peace.”

Michael Jackson

PLAY VIDEO: Man in the Mirror – Michael Jackson
An advocate for world peace, Michael Jackson led alongside other world peace leaders like Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Deepak Chopra, and Oprah. His legacy not only lies in influencing music, but MJ influenced the world with his music. “Man in the Mirror” reminds and encourages us to aspire to be our own peace leader.

Representing more than just the hippie days of peace and love from the 1960s, here are some Peace merchandise from GottaGreatGift.com to help celebrate this 2010 Peace Day:

Flowers for every occasion

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

A bouquet of flowers is a classic gift for any occasion. Other than monetary gifts hidden in cute cards, flowers are the next easiest thing to meet the minimum expectations of the old adage, “it’s the thought that counts.” How could you go wrong? But perhaps, you find yourself worrying about sending the wrong message — Do you like him/her, and does he/she feel the same way? Should you be safe and send friendly yellow flowers? Take a chance and send loving red flowers? Or be confident by sending passionately bright orange flowers?

Try this fun, creative and different technique the next time you give flowers. It’s surely a step up in effort from rushing into the nearest flower shop on the way to the celebration. This way, with a fun swirl of colors, you don’t have to worry about sending the wrong message! It’s a great gift for anyone on your list.

multicolored roses

Color adds fun and vibrance to everything. Ask your kids or the neighborhood kids for help because this is usually done as a 4th grade science experiment.
It’s easy as 1-2-3!

making multicolored carnations

  1. Grab a bunch of flowers of your choice. This technique works well with roses, carnations, pompon, hydrangeas, orchids, or any flower with a lot of big petals. But that doesn’t mean it won’t work with your flower of choice.
  2. Pick your favorite food colorings and mix it with water, one cup for each color. Splice the stem into the same number of colors you’ll be dying the flower. Let it sit until the flower is the perfect color combination that you want.
  3. Finish it up in nice bouquet paper, rice paper, gift wrapping, or elegant vase. Present and be ready to receive an unrelenting wave of hugs and thank you’s.

This simple craft for homemade dyed flowers is a perfect way to adorn any occasion and accessorize any party’s color palette.
You can save the Red roses for Valentine’s!
